New (old) Sewing Table

We went to the thrift store to look around because we were bored. I spotted this lovely sewing table and machine. I snatched up for a whopping $30, how could I not?!

The machine (a Singer 401A) still runs great and after I googled it, I found out the machine is actually desirable in the vintage sewing machine crowd and considered one of the best Singer ever made. Apparently I stumbled on to something awesome!

As an extra bonus the drawers weren't empty, and included some of the original feet and accessories.

And some other random stuff like thread.

And knitting needles! I can always use more of those. lol

As lovely as the desk is, it just doesn't match the rest of my craft room. So I gave it a little make over with some fresh paint and some new drawer pulls.

Much better!

The machine is still in need of a thorough cleaning and could probably use an oiling since who knows when that was last done. But I fixed the tension issues and now I can sew on it if I want!

Decided to try out the local cupcake place today. Too bad they tasted like they were made from a box.

While we were out running errands we spotted this little stroller on the sidewalk of a consignment store and had to snag it up for the girls.

Honeycomb Stitch-Along - Fabric Selection

Melissa convinced me to do this adorable pillow stitch-a-long with her. Ok, maybe convinced is too strong a word, she suggested it and I thought about it for a bit and said "Ok, lets do it!" It is the Echinops and Aster Honeycomb Stitch-A-Long. The stitch-a-long is actually over, so we are doing things on our own schedule.

I am stitching mine to go in my living room, which is probably pretty silly since my living room currently has no furniture in it!

I have a calendar that I love and want to use the art from to decorate in there though, so I picked some pretty fabric to match.

It is the Bluebird Park line from Katie and Birdie Paper Co.

I will be using the pretty blue flowers for the main background, the "solids" for the hexagons, and the prints in the border. I really like that it also matches the hydrangeas that are blooming in front of my house. Hopefully it will turn out as pretty as it in my head!
