2014 - Week Twenty-Six

Sunday:

French toast with strawberries and whipped cream for breakfast. Yum! 

Terrible picture, but one of the deer brought her little baby into our pasture. You can just see it's little ears poking up.

Monday:

The deer are not afraid of us at all. I was about 10 feet away from this one. 

Thursday:

Aubrey's reading skills have really taken off and she loves to read to Sierra.

Rainbow yarn

Aubrey had been asking for some rainbow socks "Please Mom? With pink instead of red." So I complied and bought some yarn.

And made some socks:

It all ended up pretty adorable! But I do have to say I am a bit sick of knitting rainbow stripes now.

Critter Jar

We have made one of our large wide mouth mason jars into a "critter jar". Whenever the girls find something they like we grab it and stick it in the jar to observe and learn about for the day. We catch and then release by bedtime.

Our jar has only been home to two critter so far. First time was a banana slug about a month ago.

Today was much more exciting when we caught a pacific tree frog. He is tiny and adorable and I think the girls will actually be sad to let this one go.
