We have made one of our large wide mouth mason jars into a "critter jar". Whenever the girls find something they like we grab it and stick it in the jar to observe and learn about for the day. We catch and then release by bedtime.
Our jar has only been home to two critter so far. First time was a banana slug about a month ago.
Today was much more exciting when we caught a pacific tree frog. He is tiny and adorable and I think the girls will actually be sad to let this one go.
